Bergen recently relocated to Coeur d’Alene and will be making his Spokane debut at D2 Gallery in July, 2025. Bergen creates arresting work, often choosing subject matter that isn't always flattering (graffiti, hamper, brown paper bag, pantry), as the stories of these objects are often more compelling and less heard. His paintings and drawings play on these themes, with an intuitive feel for color and rhythm, and a sense of dynamic space and composition that impart a joy and vitality to his work .
